The Temple of Apollo - with its ancient name "Didymaion" - is the fourth largest temple in the ancient Greek world, located in the Didim district of Aydın and was built in the name of Apollo, the son of Zeus and Leto. It is dedicated to Apollo, who is believed to have the power of prophecy.

The construction of the building, which can be seen today but never completed, dates back to BC. 4.53. century began. The pioneer temple of the 6th century BC gained a lot of fame at that time. It was destroyed by the Persians at the beginning of the 5th century BC.
